I have always wanted to go to Warp Tour. It is coming to San Diego soon. Come to the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre for the fun. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The Warped Tour was created in 1994 by Kevin Lyman, who got the idea while working on skateboarding shows such as the Vision Skate Escape and Holiday Havoc which included music with skateboarding contests. The Warped name comes from the short-lived Warp Magazine, published by Transworld, which covered surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and music.

In 1998, the tour went international, including venues in Australia, Japan, Europe, Canada, and the United States.

In 1999, the tour started off in New Zealand and Australia in the New Year. It then started up again in the United States for the northern hemisphere summer before ending up in Europe.

As well as music, this tour brings many attractions, including a half pipe for skaters and bikers. The tour also features many booths creating a flea market-like atmosphere, having tents for each of the bands to sell merchandise, independent record labels, magazine publishers, non-profit organizations, and sponsors looking to market their products to the tour’s audience. Many of the bands will retreat to their tents after their performance in order to meet up with the fans and sign autographs.

Queensryche has been to San Diego many times. They are coming to 4th and B this time. Here is some info from wikipedia

On August 9, 2007, the band announced that it would release a new greatest hits album, entitled Sign of the Times. The album was released on August 28, 2007, and a special collector’s edition featured a bonus disc including various demos and a new song, “Justified,” featuring Chris DeGarmo on guitar.

On November 13, 2007, the band released an album of covers entitled Take Cover. The album contains covers of songs by U2, The Police, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, and was the band’s second release for Rhino Records.

On February 3, 2009 Mike Stone announced the end of his association with Queensryche to focus on his side-project Speed-X. Michael Wilton recorded both lead and rhythm guitar on the band’s next release. Parker Lundgren (Formerly The Nihilists and Sledgeback), who played for Tate (and is also his son-in-law) during his solo tour, replaced Stone on the 2009 tour.

On March 31, 2009, the band’s tenth studio album was release, titled American Soldier, a concept album about war from the perspective of those on the front lines of American wars from World War II through the present.

As of late 2009 and early 2010, the band are on tour as part of The Queensrÿche Cabaret.

Folds toured with John Mayer as an opening act (though his set typically lasted an hour) in the summer of 2007. During this tour, Mayer sometimes joined Folds on the song “Narcolepsy”, playing synth. At various concerts throughout the tour, parents of young children going to see Mayer would file complaints about Folds’ lyrics. Folds responded by posting on his website, “We have kids too, but we don’t take them out to rock shows that last until 11pm.”

On March 29, 2008, Folds played the Cage Center Arena at Berry College in Mt. Berry, GA. During contract negotiations, he was asked by the administration to not play one of his songs due to its explicit lyrics. Folds refused, citing artistic freedom.

On May 9, 2008, Folds played his first completely solo show in years at Western Connecticut State University due to the fact that his bassist Jared Reynolds was with his wife who had just given birth to their first son.

Folds made a brief solo tour of Australia during August 2009; at his Sydney Opera House concert he was joined onstage for several songs by Aimee Mann, who was also touring Australia at the time. At the Palais theatre in Melbourne Missy Higgins joined him for You Don’t Know Me.

Jordin Brianna Sparks (born December 22, 1989) is an American R&B and pop singer from Glendale, Arizona who rose to fame as the winner of the sixth season of American Idol. Sparks won when she was 17 years old, making her the youngest winner. She followed her American Idol victory with the release of her self-titled debut album in 2007, which has gone platinum and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Sparks’ second single “No Air”, which features Chris Brown, is the song with the most paid downloads by any American Idol contestant, selling about 4 million digital copies worldwide. Due to the success of her debut album and its four top 20 singles, she has won an American Music Award in 2008 and received her first Grammy nomination in 2009.

Sparks’ sophomore album Battlefield was released in July 2009 worldwide and debuted at #7 in the US, three spots higher than her first album. The album’s lead single, also titled “Battlefield”, peaked in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has sold more than a million copies thus far. Sparks has sold about 9 million singles worldwide to date. Sparks’ first five singles all peaked in the top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, three of them peaking in the top 10. Battlefield’s second single, “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)”, was her first song to top the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play making it her first U.S. number one single.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony is an American hip hop group, formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1991. It consists of rappers Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh-N-Bone, Layzie Bone, and Bizzy Bone. Rapper Eazy-E of the group N.W.A signed Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to Ruthless Records in 1994, when Bone Thugs debuted with EP Creepin on ah Come Up. That EP included the hit single “Thuggish Ruggish Bone”. In 1995, the group released its debut album, E. 1999 Eternal, which included hits “1st of tha Month” and “Tha Crossroads”. A tribute to the recently deceased Eazy-E, “Tha Crossroads” won a Grammy award in 1997. The Art of War, the group’s second album, was released in 1997. Bone Thugs released two more albums that did not generate as much hype: BTNHResurrection (2000) and Thug World Order (2002). The group went on hiatus and returned in 2007 with Strength & Loyalty, this time released by Swizz Beatz’s label Full Surface Records.

Buzzcocks are an English rock band formed in Bolton in 1976, led by singer–songwriter–guitarist Pete Shelley.

They are regarded as an important influence on the Manchester music scene, the independent record label movement, punk rock, power pop, pop punk and indie rock. They achieved commercial success with singles that fused pop craftsmanship with rapid-fire punk energy. These singles were collected on Singles Going Steady, described by critic Ned Raggett as a “punk masterpiece”. The widely covered “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t've)” remains one of their best-known songs.

The name “Buzzcocks” was chosen by Howard Devoto and Pete Shelley after reading the headline “it’s the buzz, cocks!” in a review of the TV series Rock Follies in Time Out magazine. The “buzz” is the excitement of playing on stage; “cock” is Manchester slang meaning “youngster”. They thought it captured the excitement of the Sex Pistols and nascent punk scene

Miyavi started 2009 as the headliner for the PS Company 10th Anniversary Commemorative Performance at the Nippon Budokan on January 3, for which the 13,000+ tickets sold out within three minutes of going on sale on November 22, 2008. On the day of the live, fans were sprawled in a line stretching from the Budokan to Kudanshita Station.

Near the end of the show, Miyavi famously revealed that a DVD of the event, Peace&Smile Carnival 2009 would be released on April 5, 2008, by accident. Two books titled: PS Company 10th Anniversary Book Peace&Smile History 1998-2008 and Peace&Smile Carnival at Nippon Budokan were released on January 23 and February 9, 2009 respectively. While the PS Company 10th Anniversary Book Peace&Smile History 1998-2008 consisted of photo shoots and interviews with the participating artists (including Miyavi, Kagrra, Kra, the GazettE, Alice Nine, SuG and SCREW), the Peace&Smile Carnival at Nippon Budokan in addition included: exclusive backstage images, live reports, as well as a company-wide questionnaire.

In a late 2008 interview, upon being asked where he wanted to go in the next ten years (personally or on tour), Miyavi expressed his desire to visit: “Russia, Italy, Macao, Dubai, Antarctica, India, Thailand, Indonesia, New Orleans, Mexico, Argentina, Croatia, Mt.

The Offspring is an American rock band formed in Huntington Beach, California in 1984. Since its formation, the band’s line-up has included Dexter Holland (lead vocals, guitar), Noodles (lead and rhythm guitars, backing vocals) and Greg K. (bass, backing vocals). In 1987, Ron Welty would replace James Lilja as the drummer for The Offspring, completing the band’s successful lineup that would last for 16 years. Their current drummer is Pete Parada, formerly of Face to Face, and Saves the Day, who has been with the band since 2007.

The Offspring has been credited, along with fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. To date, The Offspring has released eight studio albums, one compilation, four EPs and three DVDs. They have sold over 34 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling punk rock acts of all time. Each album since the release of Smash (1994) has sold over a million units.

They are coming to San Diego with Megadeth to play at the Cricket Wireless Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Slayer is an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981. The band was founded by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Slayer rose to fame with their 1986 release, Reign in Blood, which has been called “the heaviest album of all time” by Kerrang!. The band is credited as one of the “Big Four” of thrash metal, along with Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth.

Slayer’s musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, atonal guitar solos, double bass drumming, and shouting vocals. The band’s lyrics and album art, which cover topics such as serial killers, Satanism, religion and warfare have generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and strong criticism from religious groups and the public.

Since their debut record in 1983, the band has released two live albums, one box set, four videos, two extended plays, and eleven studio albums, four of which have received gold certification in the United States. The band has received three Grammy nominations, winning one in 2007 for the song “Eyes of the Insane”, and one in 2008 for the song “Final Six”. They have played music festivals worldwide, including Unholy Alliance, Download and Ozzfest.

Green Day can be a little political for me at times, but they are a great band. They are coming to the Cricket Wireless Theater here in San Diego with AFI. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987. The band has consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool for the majority of its existence. The band is credited as one of the two main bands, along with The Offspring, who put the punk revival into process.

Green Day was originally part of the punk scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. The band’s early releases for independent record label Lookout! Records earned it a grassroots fanbase. Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie (1994) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. and 15 million worldwide. As a result, Green Day was widely credited, alongside fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States. Green Day’s three follow-up albums, Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning did not achieve the massive success of Dookie, but they were still successful, reaching double platinum, double platinum, and gold status respectively. Green Day’s 2004 rock opera American Idiot reignited the band’s popularity with a younger generation, selling five million copies in the U.S. The band’s eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, was released on May 15, 2009.

He is a good performer and he is coming to play at the Cricket Wireless Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Johnson was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The son of well-known surfer Jeff Johnson, he took an interest in the sport. He began surfing at the age of 5. At 17, he became the youngest invitee to make the surfing finals at the Pipeline Masters on Oahu’s north shore. One week later, however, his brief stint as a professional surfer ended when he suffered a surfing accident at the Pipeline that put over 150 stitches in his forehead and knocked a few of his teeth out.
