I was flipping through the stations one night and came across the San Diego team playing. These women are playing hard football. I would not want to play with them. The Lingerie Football League is playing at the Sports Arena. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Play style is full-contact and similar to other indoor football leagues. Uniforms consist of helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, sports bras, and shorts.

There are no field goals and no punts. There is a kickoff to start the game and second half. A team must attempt to get a first down on every fourth down. After a touchdown, a team can attempt a one-point conversion from the two yard line, or a two-point conversion from the five-yard line.

There are seven women on each side of the 50-yard field, the same as the Continental Indoor Football League, but one less than the eight players usually found in arena football or other indoor leagues. Teams consist of 18 players, only 12 of whom are active on game day. This means that there are usually 3 or 4 players who play both offense and defense.

The standard offensive formation features 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 1 center, and 3 wide receivers. The standard defensive formation features 2 defensive linewomen, 2 linebackers, 2 cornerbacks, and 1 safety.

The field is 50-yard between end zones, 30 yards wide, and the end zones are 8 yards deep, roughly the same as other indoor leagues.

A game consists of two 15-minute halves, separated by a 12-minute halftime. In the event of a tie, an 8-minute sudden-death overtime is played.

The Air Force Basketball team is coming to play SDSU. Come to Cox arena for the game. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The Air Force Falcons are the collegiate athletic teams from the United States Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The intercollegiate program has 17 men’s and 10 women’s NCAA sanctioned teams. Men’s teams are football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, cross-country, fencing, golf, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor track, lacrosse, rifle, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling. The Academy fields women’s teams in basketball, cross-country, fencing, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor track, swimming and diving, soccer, tennis and volleyball. In addition, the Academy sponsors two non-NCAA programs: boxing and cheerleading.

The University of New Mexico Lobos men’s basketball team represents the University of New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference in the NCAA Division I. (UNM) established basketball as a varsity sport in 1899, but it wasn’t until 1920 when they hired a new basketball coach. Wyoming is coming to play SDSU basketball. If you want to see a good game, come out to the Cox Arena. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The University of Wyoming men’s basketball program, which currently competes in the Mountain West Conference, has a lengthy tradition dating back to 1905. Cowboys fans can claim something that few other teams’ fans can: an NCAA Championship, won in 1943 under Hall of Fame coach Everett Shelton and behind star guard Ken Sailors, who pioneered the jump shot that is now the standard in basketball. Wyoming has made a total of 14 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, though the closest it has come to the lofty heights of the 1943 team was a Sweet 16 appearance in 1987. Since the Mountain West was formed in 1999, Wyoming has won two conference titles, including an outright championship in 2002. Prior to that, Wyoming won five championships in the Western Athletic Conference, eight championships in the Skyline Conference, and one championship in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The Lakers almost always has some of the best Players. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Bobcats are coming to the San Diego sports Arena (IpayOne). Here is some info from wikipedia:

The 2007–08 NBA season started roughly for the team. But their patience paid off as the team saw the emergence of their young center Andrew Bynum, whom the Lakers saw potential in. About halfway through the season the San Diego Charges will be playing host to the Indianapolis Colts at Qualcomm Stadium. In October the Chargers will be host to the NFL expansion team, the Houston Texans at Qualcomm Stadium. Last year the Chargers had one of the best records in the NFL but pretty much threw it away in the post-season. Hopefully they can keep the same (or better record) and get it together in the post-season this time.

The summer’s half way over and it’s time to start thinking about Football season again. If you looking for Chargers Preseason tickets this is the place to be. It’s April and that means the 2007 AFC West Division champs, Charger’s preseason tickets are going on sale. This August the Chargers will host the Seattle Seahawks at Qualcomm Stadium for their first preseason game. Well we have a new sport in San Diego. The San Diego Shockwave are an expansion team from the National Indoor Football League. They will be playing teams from all over the country. Their home stadium is Cox Arena at SDSU. I don’t know how long indoor football has been around but it sure would be interesting to watch. Now we can have football all year round! In the beginning of May the Shockwave will be taking on the Los Angeles Lynx at the Cox Arena. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be coming to San Diego this summer. The Padres will host them at Petco Park. Being 5th in the National League Central Divisio, the Pirates need to make up some serious ground if they are want to be noticed in the League. Last year their record was .414 and the Padres had a record of .543 so this should be an easy win for the Padres. This summer the Philadelphia Phillies will be heading over to San Diego’s Petco Park to play up against the San Diego Padres. The Phillies haven’t had that great of a record lately–they haven’t won anything since 1993 when they won the Pennant. This series should be a piece of cake for the Padres. The Atlanta Braves will be coming to San Diego to play the Padres this summer. I remember when it was a race for the Pennant in ’98 and I was lucky enough to get to a Braves vs. Padres game. Petco Park will be host to this year’s collegiate double header, the Tony Gwynn Classic tournament. Oklahoma will be playing USD and San Diego State will be up against Michigan. This is such an exciting day because the former Padre and current SDSU Baseball coach, Tony Gwynn, will be honored for his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The 2007 US Tour opening match of The Mexican National Football (Soccer) Team’s season will be held this year in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium. They will be up against their South American rival, Venezuela. With Hugo Sanchez as their new coach after a devastating Round 2 World Cup loss last year there are great hopes for the Mexican’s this year. The Venezuelan’s have yet to qualify for a World Cup however.

Another American League team that the San Diego Padres will host at Petco Park is the Baltimore Orioles. They’ve done fairly well considering they are in the American League East up against the likes of the Yankees, the Blue Jays and the Red Sox. In 2006 the Orioles had a record of .432 so if the Padres hold close to their 2006 of .543 a win is probably going to happen.
