The Shins Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Soma Tickets, Concerts

The Shins are coming to SOMA next month in San Diego. Classified as “Indie Rock” the Shins are originally from New Mexico. Some fo their songs sound like they were influenced by a lot of 70’s fold music. I was surprised to learn that they had a song on the Spongebob Squarepants movie soundtrack. Killswitch Engage Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Soma Tickets, Concerts

Killswitch Engage is coming to San Diego at Soma next month. I had never heard of this band before but as I was reading up on their Wiki I started to get intrigued by their style. Apparently they are a hard rock band that focuses on bringing about positive change and being optimistic. Wiki says:

The sound of Killswitch Engage is characterized by a mix of powerful riffing, double bass drum patterns, and dynamic vocals expressing lyrics based on positive change and optimism. Other notable features of their sound include the use of complex single-note articulations, power chord riffs, twin-guitar harmonies, and pinch harmonics i.e. pick squeals and artifical harmonics.

Sounds like an interesting band to see. If you can’t find the tickets you want to this show at the box office here are the places to shop for after market tickets:

Tickets for Incubus in San Diego (at Soma)

By: Jamie    Category: Soma Tickets, Concerts

Incubus is coming to San Diego in January 2007 and playing at Soma. Remember when Soma was just a tiny little place that only played no-name bands trying to get big? Well I haven’t been there in years and I guess they’ve up their style to host a band like Incubus. I’m sure they will be playing some songs from their album Light Grenades which hits shelves on November 28th. Do you want tickets to the show? Here’s what you do:

Good Charlotte in San Diego Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Soma Tickets, Concerts

Good Charlotte is coming into town for a show at Soma on October 2, 2006. (See also here and here) Soma is always a cool place to see punk or ska or pop-punk bands so it ought to be a good fit for these guys. Of course Soma seems to change locations every couple of years but it looks like it is currently located next to the sports arena.

Also try:

Anyway, the Good Charlotte Wiki says this about the band:

Good Charlotte is a pop rock band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed on the 1st April 1996. They took the name ‘Good Charlotte’ from a children’s book: Good Charlotte: The Girls Of Good Day Orphanage by Carol Beach York. The band maintains that there is no significance to the name Good Charlotte, and have claimed on many ocassions that they now hate the name. They have released 3 albums, most notably 2002’s multiplatinum seller The Young and the Hopeless, which spawned the chart topping singles, “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” “The Anthem,” and “Girls and Boys.” The band’s third and most recent album is 2004’s The Chronicles of Life and Death. The band is fronted by identical twin brothers Benji and Joel Madden. Other members of the band include their friends Billy Martin and Paul Thomas.

Well alrightee then…
