San Diego Padres vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates will be coming to San Diego this summer. The Padres will host them at Petco Park. Being 5th in the National League Central Divisio, the Pirates need to make up some serious ground if they are want to be noticed in the League. Last year their record was .414 and the Padres had a record of .543 so this should be an easy win for the Padres. Petco Park will be host to this year’s collegiate double header, the Tony Gwynn Classic tournament. Oklahoma will be playing USD and San Diego State will be up against Michigan. This is such an exciting day because the former Padre and current SDSU Baseball coach, Tony Gwynn, will be honored for his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. If you want tickets here are some great places to look.
In 2007 the San Diego Padres will have an interleague game against the Seattle Mariners at Petco Park. I like when they bring the American League teams into the picture. It shakes things up a bit. We’ll see if the Padres can do the National League proud by beating the Mariners. Last year Seattle had an average of .481 so as far as baseball’s concerned, anything could happen against San Diego’s (.543).
