iPayOne Center (aka San Diego Sports Arena) Tickets

The San Diego Sports Arena has been hosting big concerts and sporting events since the sixties. But as of a couple of years ago it is called the iPayOne Center. [BTW - yep, it’s “iPayOne Center” and not i payone center or iPay One Center or I Pay One Center or iPay Center or ipay 1 center or I Pay 1 Center or I-PayOne Center… etc] Here is a little trivia on the arena from the wiki:

The iPayOne Center (formerly San Diego Sports Arena) is an indoor arena located on Sports Arena Blvd in Point Loma, San Diego, California off of Interstate 8.

Completed in 1966 at a cost of $6.5 million, the arena seats 12,000 for arena football, 12,920 for ice hockey, 14,500 for basketball and tennis, 5,450 for amphitheater concerts and stage shows, between 8,900 and 14,800 for arena concerts, 13,000 for ice shows and the circus, and 16,100 for boxing and wrestling.

If you are looking for tickets to and upcoming event at the iPayOne Center the box office is always the cheapest route. But if you don’t find the tickets you want that way here is where we recommend you look for aftermarket tickets:

1. AIW Tickets usually has the lowest prices and a great inventory.

2. Check out a couple of these ticket vendors

3. And you can also check my other two favorite ticket brokers:

StubHub will let you buy or sell tickets and often gets some seats the other guys don’t have
TicketsNow has a good selection too.

If you want more info about the arena itself here is the official iPayOne Center website.

Blue Man Group Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: San Diego Sports Arena Tickets, Theater

Blue Man Group is coming to San Diego. According to Wikipedia:

Blue Man Group (Blue Man, BMG) is a creative organization founded by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink, and Matt Goldman; it is centered on a trio of mute performers, called Blue Men, who present themselves in blue grease paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing. Blue Man Group’s theatrical acts incorporate rock music (with an emphasis on percussion), odd props, audience participation, sophisticated lighting, and large amounts of paper. It is also noted for having a “poncho section” of the audience; in the front rows, audience members are provided with plastic ponchos in order to protect them from various food, substances, paints, and so on, which get thrown, ejected, or sprayed from the stage. The shows are family-oriented, humorous, energetic and often employ thought-provoking satire on modern life. Most of the humor breaks the fourth wall, for example, interrupting the show to ridicule latecomers in the audience.

Blue Man Group will be performing at the San Diego Sports Arena (formerly the iPayOne Center). If you can’t find the tickets you want to this show at the box office here are the places to shop for after market tickets:

If you like real wrestling, then this it the place to be. This isn’t the fake stuff like you see at the Olympics. WWE One Night Stand is coming to the San Diego Sports Arena. Get your tickets now. Here is some info from wiki:

One Night Stand is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). For the first two years the event featured wrestlers from the former Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) promotion, whose holdings WWE purchased in bankruptcy court, and was promoted under the ECW initials. The 2005 show was a tribute show to the original ECW, with most of the match participants being ECW alumni including those who were not under contract with WWE at the time. The 2006 edition, however, marked the kickoff to WWE’s new ECW brand. While the 2007 edition became a tri-branded pay per view, the event’s roots were retained as every match took place under Extreme Rules

I could act like I knew who this guy was, but I am not going to. That is why I added a little more Wiki info than normal. Juanes is playing at the Sports Arena in San Diego. Here is some info from wiki:

Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez best known as Juanes (born August 9, 1972 in Carolina del Príncipe, Antioquia) is a Colombian rock musician. During the 1980s and 1990s, Juanes was a member of heavy metal band Ekhymosis but disbanded the group in 1998 to pursue a solo career. His 2000 solo debut album, Fíjate Bien, had moderate commercial success and went on to win three Latin Grammy Awards.

His second album, Un Día Normal was certified platinum throughout much of the Spanish-speaking world, and its lead single “A Dios le Pido” topped singles charts in twelve countries. Mi Sangre, his third album, fared equally well with Juanes promoting it on a tour with over 200 performances. The album’s third single, “La Camisa Negra”, generated controversy after being used as a symbol for Italian neo-fascism. Juanes is one of the best-selling Colombian musicians, having sold more than ten million albums and won twelve Latin Grammys. Juanes is also known for his humanitarian work, especially with aid for Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines.
