Kings Of Leon Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Concerts,Cox Arena Tickets

Kings of Leon are coming for a show soon. They are performing at the Cox Arena in San Diego. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Kings of Leon is an American alternative rock band. The members of the band are Anthony Caleb Followill, Michael Jared Followill, Ivan Nathan Followill, and Cameron Matthew Followill, however, the band members go by their middle names. After various jobs, the brothers moved to Nashville in 1996. They formed a band in 2000 with their cousin Matthew Followill. The band claims that their music was influenced equally by their religious upbringing and Jack Daniels Whiskey. Caleb recalls listening to “Crimson and Clover” by Tommy James and the Shondells with his uncle, and cites it as the song which really made him pay attention to popular music. This song is later referred to in ‘California Waiting’ with the lyric “crimson and clover pulling overtime”. They were members of the West Tennessee Choir for a short time mainly assigned to falsetto ranged harmonies.

Green Day Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Concerts,Cox Arena Tickets

Green Day is one of the biggest punk bands of all time. The are coming for a show at the Cox Arena here in San Diego. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Its early releases for independent record label Lookout! Records earned them a grassroots fanbase, some of whom felt alienated when the band signed to a major label. Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie (1994) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. and 15 million worldwide. As a result, Green Day was widely credited, alongside fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States. Green Day’s three follow-up albums, Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning did not achieve the massive success of Dookie, but they were still successful, reaching double platinum, double platinum, and gold status respectively. Green Day’s 2004 rock opera American Idiot reignited the band’s popularity with a younger generation, selling five million copies in the U.S. The band’s eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, will be released on May 15, 2009.

Neil Young Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Concerts,Cox Arena Tickets

Neil Young has been touring for many years. He is coming to San Diego for a show at Cox Arena. Go and get your tickets soon. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Young’s work is characterized by deeply personal lyrics, distinctive guitar work, and signature nasal tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments—including piano and harmonica—his style of claw-hammer acoustic guitar and often idiosyncratic soloing on electric guitar are the linchpins of a sometimes ragged, sometimes polished sound. Although Young has experimented widely with differing music styles, including swing, jazz, rockabilly, blues, and electronic music throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into either of two distinct styles: folk-esque acoustic rock (as heard in songs such as “Heart of Gold”, “Harvest Moon” and “Old Man”) and electric-charged hard rock (in songs like “Cinnamon Girl”, “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)”). In more recent years, Young has started to adopt elements from newer styles of music, such as industrial, alternative country and grunge, the latter of which was profoundly influenced by his own style of playing, causing some to confer on him the title of “the godfather of grunge”.
