Prior to the release of his debut album, Legend’s career gained momentum through a series of successful collaborations with multiple established artists. Legend added his voice to those of other artists, assisting in them reaching chart-topper hits. He lent his voice to that of Kanye West, on Slum Village’s “Selfish”, and Dilated Peoples’ “This Way”. Other artists included Jay-Z’s “Encore”, and sang backing vocals on Alicia Keys’ 2003 song “Diary” and Fort Minor’s “High Road.” Legend played piano on Lauryn Hill’s “Everything Is Everything”.

LeAnn Rimes is very popular. She is bring her show here to San Diego. Come to Humphrey’s by the Bay for the fun. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Rimes took a two-year break, and then released her next studio album in October 2007, Family. The album was a mix of country, pop, and rock music, and included a duet with Bon Jovi, “Til We Ain’t Strangers Anymore”. Family was the first album released by Rimes in which every track was co-written by Rimes herself. Rolling Stone said the songs on the album are “uneven” and rated it three and half out of five stars. Allmusic gave Family four out of five stars and said that the album, “illustrates her range as a singer along with some true strength as a writer.” The album helped nominate Rimes for the Academy of Country Music’s “Top Female Vocalist” award in 2008. The album’s lead single, “Nothin’ Better to Do” was released in mid 2007, and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Country Chart before the end of the year. The album has released two singles to date; “Good Friend and a Glass of Wine” and “What I Cannot Change.” In 2008, Rimes toured with Kenny Chesney where she opened every show on his 2008 Poets and Pirates Tour, along with other artists on select dates such as Brooks & Dunn, Keith Urban, Sammy Hagar, Gary Allan, Big & Rich, and Luke Bryan. Australian Pink Floyd Tickets in San Diego

By: Jamie    Category: Concerts, Humphreys By The Bay

I have never seen Australian Pink Floyd, but I have heard that they are awesome. They are playing at Humphrey’s by the Bay in San Diego. Here is some info from wikipedia:

The shows typically follow the format of one hour of music, followed by a 20-minute intermission, resuming with another hour of music, and often concluding with an encore of “Comfortably Numb” and “Run Like Hell”. Sometimes the band will play certain Pink Floyd albums in their entirety during a show, usually as a first set. To date they have performed in this format The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here and on the 2008/9 tour, The Wall. When not performing a specific album the band will perform songs from all periods of Pink Floyd’s oeuvre including early material by Syd Barrett and longer songs such as “Dogs” and “Echoes” to later material from the albums The Wall, The Final Cut, Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell.

The 2008 US tour of The Wall included minor theatrics, which consisted of Ian Cattell playing the part of Pink watching television from his armchair whilst singing “Nobody Home”, as well as performances during “In the Flesh” and “Waiting for the Worms”—an allusion to similar scenes in the film Pink Floyd The Wall.

America (the Band) is one to the iconic bands of the 70’s. They still do show and are coming to San Diego. Come to Humphrey’s by the Bay for the fun. Here is some info from wikipedia:

America is an American folk rock musical band, composed originally of members Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek. The three members were barely past their teenage years when they became a musical sensation during 1972, with their main popularity during the early to mid 1970s and early 1980s. Some of the band’s best known songs are “A Horse with No Name”, “Sister Golden Hair” (both of which reached #1), “Ventura Highway”, “Tin Man”, and “Lonely People”.

Although their music was derided frequently by critics, the band’s singles and albums were very successful commercially. They were popular enough to attract the services of famed Beatles producer George Martin for a series of seven albums. The band survived Peek quitting near its apex long enough to see Beckley and Bunnell return the act to the top 10 as a duo with “You Can Do Magic” in 1982. Touring for almost four decades, America maintains fans and performs over 100 shows per year. On January 16, 2007, America released Here & Now, the band’s first major label studio album in over twenty years.
