In January 2008 SmackDown! debuted in HD with Raw and ECW and dropped the exclamation point from the end of its name. The “SmackDown fist” was removed as well as all WWE shows started using the same, standard set. On February 8, 2008 it was reported that World Wrestling Entertainment and The CW had ended negotiations to keep Friday Night SmackDown on the network. WWE stated that negotiations with other networks has begun and that Friday Night SmackDown would continue to air on The CW through the end of the 2007-2008 broadcast season. On February 26 WWE issued a press release announcing Friday Night SmackDown’s move to MyNetworkTV. On May 19, 2008, MyNetworkTV president, Greg Meidel, announced that WWE television would premiere on the network in October 2008, with a recap of WrestleMania XXIV being shown on October 2, 2008, and SmackDown premiering on October 3, 2008

I have never seen the show on TV, but I have seen some of the show online. JabbaWockeeZ who won the show in the first season were awesome. The show is coming to San Diego to the Sports Arena (IpayOne). Go and get tickets. Here is some info from wikipedia:

America’s Best Dance Crew, which is often abbreviated as ABDC, is an American television show featuring street dance crews from the United States. The show is produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson, and airs on MTV in the United States and MuchMusic in Canada.

Ray Lamontagne is a folk singer and he is coming to your area. The show will be at the Spreckels Theatre and the fun will be soon. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Citizen Cope has come to San Diego before and I guess he liked it because he is back. The show is at the Spreckels Theatre. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Washington, DC, Greenwood started his musical career as a DJ for the hip hop act Basehead, a group that would have a significant impact on his style as a solo-musician. Citizen Cope blends many genres of music, such as folk, blues, reggae, hip hop, rock, and R&B.

Greenwood first released a demo tape under the name Cope Citizen in the late ’90s. He would follow up the release of the demo by donating songs to several independently issued compilations, movie soundtracks, as well as appearing on the Jay Leno Show to promote his demo.

In 2000 Greenwood signed with the DreamWorks Records label, which released his first album in September 2002, Citizen Cope. Greenwood toured to promote the record as an opener for Nelly Furtado. He performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, in 2002.

The Soul, pop, funk singer Sara Bareilles is coming to San Diego for a show. The event is at Spreckels Theatre. Go and get tickets fast. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Bareilles was born and raised in Eureka, California. She participated in the high school choir, Limited Edition, and local community theater musical productions, including her high school’s production of Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey. Bareilles attended UCLA, where she was a member of their a cappella group Awaken A Capella. The group’s rendition of Bareilles’ “Gravity” was featured on the Best of College A Cappella 2004 compilation CD. The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to the San Diego Civic Theater. Here is short blurb from Wiki:

Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Introduced in 1970, it highlights the political and interpersonal struggles of Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The action largely follows the canonical gospels’ accounts of the last weeks of Jesus’s life, beginning with Jesus and his followers arriving in Jerusalem and ending with the Crucifixion. At first I didn’t know who David Byrne was but wikipedia enlightened my mind. As a former member of the Talking Heads 80′s band, he has some background in music. He is coming to play at Humphreys by the Bay in San Diego. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Wikipedia said that the band originated in London. I wonder if this London is in Texas or something. Anyway, America the band is coming to San Diego for a show at Humphrey’s by the Bay. Come on down. Here is some info from wikipedia:

America are an English-American folk rock band, originally composed of members Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek. The three members were barely past their teenage years when they became an overnight musical sensation in 1972. They reached a peak in popularity in the early to mid 1970s and early 1980s. Among the band’s best known songs are “A Horse with No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair” (both of which reached Number 1), “Ventura Highway,” and “Tin Man”.

Although their music was frequently derided by critics, from a commercial standpoint the band’s singles and albums were exceptionally successful. They were popular enough to attract the services of famed Beatles producer George Martin for a run of seven albums. Russell Peters is a comedian who has been all over the world. He is originally from Canada which is cool and cold. To learn more about him look below, to see him go to Humphreys by the Bay in San Diego. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Ratatat the New York electronic duo is coming to San Diego. They are here for one show so you better get your tickets fast for the House of Blues. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Mike Stroud and Evan Mast first met as Skidmore College students, but they did not work together until they recorded several songs under the name Cherry in 2001. Their 2004 debut, Ratatat, was written and recorded in Mast’s Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment on Stroud’s PowerBook. This album is entirely instrumental, except for occasional excerpts of dialog at the beginning and end of some tracks. For touring in 2006, they added a third member, Jacob Morris, on keyboard.

The group started out releasing their debut single Seventeen Years on Evan and his brother’s record label Audio Dregs label in the US and Rex Records in the UK. They released that single again on Evan and his brother E*Rock’s record label Audio Dregs. They then signed for XL Recordings, releasing their debut album and the single Germany to Germany. Ratatat occasionally remixes others for collected release on Ratatat Remixes Vol. 1 (which garnered the attention of Rolling Stone), as well as the later second volume, both of which were self-released in co-operation with Audio Dregs.
