San Diego Padres vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates will be coming to San Diego this summer. The Padres will host them at Petco Park. Being 5th in the National League Central Divisio, the Pirates need to make up some serious ground if they are want to be noticed in the League. Last year their record was .414 and the Padres had a record of .543 so this should be an easy win for the Padres. The Atlanta Braves will be coming to San Diego to play the Padres this summer. I remember when it was a race for the Pennant in ‘98 and I was lucky enough to get to a Braves vs. Padres game. What a match up between teams! Hopefully the series this year will be as exciting as that series. The Shins are coming to SOMA next month in San Diego. Classified as “Indie Rock” the Shins are originally from New Mexico. Some fo their songs sound like they were influenced by a lot of 70’s fold music. I was surprised to learn that they had a song on the Spongebob Squarepants movie soundtrack. Ricky Martin is coming to San Diego! You better get tickets to this show so you can be Livin’ La Vida Loca with him on stage at the iPay One Center. He will no doubt be moving those hips like no one should and making all the ladies crazy.
Harry Connick Jr. is coming to Embarcadero Park South in May. What a great concert to head to. The weather will be perfect and you can sit under the stars listening to one of the 90’s greatest crooners. Five for Fighting is coming to San Diego at the 4th and B coming up in April. Did you know that Five for Fighting is not the name of a band, but the name of the singer? It’s actually the stage name for John Ondrasik. He thought he would be remembered better if he used something other than his real name. I’d say that was a pretty good decision. Superman (It’s Not Easy) was his big hit that made him popluar in 2001 and he’s been on a roll ever since.
