Good Charlotte in San Diego Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Concerts, Soma Tickets

Good Charlotte is coming into town for a show at Soma on October 2, 2006. (See also here and here) Soma is always a cool place to see punk or ska or pop-punk bands so it ought to be a good fit for these guys. Of course Soma seems to change locations every couple of years but it looks like it is currently located next to the sports arena.

Also try:

Anyway, the Good Charlotte Wiki says this about the band:

Good Charlotte is a pop rock band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed on the 1st April 1996. They took the name ‘Good Charlotte’ from a children’s book: Good Charlotte: The Girls Of Good Day Orphanage by Carol Beach York. The band maintains that there is no significance to the name Good Charlotte, and have claimed on many ocassions that they now hate the name. They have released 3 albums, most notably 2002’s multiplatinum seller The Young and the Hopeless, which spawned the chart topping singles, “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” “The Anthem,” and “Girls and Boys.” The band’s third and most recent album is 2004’s The Chronicles of Life and Death. The band is fronted by identical twin brothers Benji and Joel Madden. Other members of the band include their friends Billy Martin and Paul Thomas.

Well alrightee then…

Dashboard Confessional in San Diego

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: About and Other

Dashboard Confessional is coming to San Diego for a show at Cox Arena on October 21, 2006. Apparently the show is a popular one because the brokers are all selling seats for this one. These guys reportedly throw a a pretty good show though. Their wiki says this:

Dashboard Confessional shows are known for their intimate atmosphere and enthusiastic participation from the crowds. Carrabba encourages the audience to sing large portions of the songs, stepping back from the mic and letting the crowd’s voices be heard instead of his. This can be heard on numerous songs from the MTV Unplugged recording. Carrabba has said that this fosters a bond between concert-goers, and helps him and the audience connect on an emotional level, making all his shows intimate, personal experiences.

I dunno… I always thought the singer sounded whiny…

Anyway, these tickets are going fast so here are the best places to check: Here, here and here. Odds are you can get some good tickets from one of those guys. If they don’t have what you need I doubt anyone will (except perhaps ebay).

Happy hunting.

Sea World San Diego Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Attractions

Heading to Sea World are you? That’s cool. It’s a pretty fun place the first time. (We got annual passes one year and discovered the fun wears out pretty fast on the third visit and beyond in a year.) Anyway, here is the best source I have found for getting tickets online. Tickets ain’t cheap though — at $61 per adult ($52 per child) you need to be prepared. I guess it isn’t that much compared to Disneyland, but I know Disneyland and you Sea World are no Disneyland. (Sea World seems more comparable to the San Diego Zoo to me and they are only charging $32 per adult fer cryin’ out loud!)

Anyway, don’t let me discourage you from going to Sea World or anything. It really is a good time and the shows make for great family fun.

BTW - Bring some extra dough for parking. If I remember correctly that ain’t cheap either.

Best Places to Find San Diego Mariah Carey Concert Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Concerts, San Diego Sports Arena Tickets

So they tell me Mariah Carey is coming to the Sports Arena (or ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena if you are a doofus) on Wednesday October 6. I have to admit that Mariah Carey ain’t really my thang; but apparently she is still hugely popular so I figured I better do some research on this concert for y’all.

Here is what I’ve discovered so far: As of today there appear to be some nosebleed seats still available through Ticketmaster and they will cost you less than $100 each even after the infamous Ticketmaster “convenience fees”. So that might be your least expensive route still (see our resources page for that link).

But of course you can get better seats than that if you want. Here is what my search of the top aftermarket ticket brokers turned up:

Best Places to Find San Diego Shakira Concert Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Concerts, San Diego Sports Arena Tickets

Shakira is coming to the San Diego Sports Arena soon (Wed. 8/16/2006) and tickets are now officially hard to come by. (BTW - when did they start calling the Sports Arena the “ipayOne Center” again?). I’ve done a little research on this concert and have some links you will probably find useful if you are hunting for good seats to the show. (There are some tickets available still it turns out).

First, I just checked TicketMaster and it looks like the show is officially “sold out”. But there are plenty of tickets available still through the aftermarket brokers and here are the resources I recommend you check out for those: (more…)

Best Places to Find San Diego Concert Tickets Online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Concerts

San Diego is a big city. I fact I just checked and despite dropping a few notches on the biggest cities in the US list in recent decades (Phoenix and San Antonio passed it) it remains one of the 10 biggest cities in America and the San Diego metropolitan area is in the top 20 in the US.

If you like to see live music that is a good thing because most of the big concerts end up making stops in San Diego. Now there are several ways to get your hands on tickets to concerts in America’s Finest City; the least expensive way is often to simply call TicketMaster and buy your tickets at face value. But that often isn’t an option at the more popular concerts — tickets sell out fast and even when they don’t the seats that are left over are not always worth having (depending on the venue I guess). But don’t give up hope — even when the concert you want is sold out at the box office (or least the seats you hoped for are sold out) there are often ticket brokers out there that are looking to offload extra tickets they picked up and these are often some of the best seats in the house. Now it turns out these ticket brokers make their money by marking the high-demand tickets up above face value, but some brokers mark the tickets up more than others and some brokers have better choices than others. Here a guide to what I have found when it comes to tracking down tickets for San Diego concerts: (more…)

About San Diego Ticket Finder

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: About and Other

Hmmm… What’s to tell? We dig around and try to find the best places online to buy tickets for San Diego event, games, and attractions and then we write about it here.

If an event isn’t all that popular then it may be best to just buy at the event box office and we link to those on our resource page. If the event is popular or even sold out there are usually still tickets available through a few key “aftermarket” ticket brokers. (There are gobs of sites hawking tickets on the web but the vast majority of them are just selling the tickets from the same 3-4 brokers anyway.) So we check out the key brokers and try to point you in the right direction so you can find the tickets you need at the best prices available. Of course if an event is sold out these brokers ask more than face value (supply and demand and all, you know) but there are differences in asking prices for the same tickets sometimes so we try to help you sort through that.

As you can tell by the name of the site, we’re only focused on San Diego tickets around here. You welcome to comment at any of the pages if you see something missing or if you think there is some info we or others would be interested in hearing. Happy hunting for your tickets. We hope we can be helpful as you search!

Best Places to Find San Diego Toreros Basketball Tickets Online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Sports

Look, I’ll admit it — I’m really an Aztec fan at heart. It frankly irks us Aztecs to no end to get our butts handed to us by little USD year after year. But even us Aztec fans must concede that the Torero basketball program is very solid. There are lots of good reasons to be looking for Toreros basketball tickets.

So if you are looking to find tickets to a game there are a couple of ways to go about that. The first thing to do is try to buy tickets directly from the school. We have links to where you can do that on our resource page. But if you don’t find the tickets you really want there, here are some aftermarket ticket resources that often come up with killer seats to the Toreros games: (more…)

Best places to find San Diego theater tickets online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Theater

In addition to being “America’s Finest City”, San Diego is also still one of the biggest cities in America so it should not be any wonder that there is excellent theater in town. Most of the top touring production make a stop in San Diego so one need not trudge all the way up to L.A. to see the best productions. (Besides, isn’t it the sworn duty of all San Diegans to not like L.A.?)

The San Diego Civic theater downtown is the largest and best equipped venue in town. It is a lovely place to catch any performance in my opinion — whether it be a Broadway production, ballet, opera, or whatever. The Spreckels theater is the smaller venue in downtown and hosts many excellent performances itself.

So if you are looking to find tickets to a show there are a couple of ways to go about that. The first thing to do is try to buy tickets from TicketMaster. We have links to where you can do that on our resource page. But if you don’t find the tickets you really want there, here are the top few aftermarket ticket resources that often come up with much better seats: (more…)

Where to find San Diego Wild Animal Park tickets online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Attractions

So you’re coming to San Diego and you need Wild Animal Park tickets, eh? Well we’ll try to help you out.

First, let me commend you for even looking for Wild Animal Park tickets. The zoo gets all the glory but the Wild Animal Park is right up there in the same league as the zoo but gets a lot less of the glory. The Tram ride around the Escondido Veldt is the highlight of the Wild Animal Park in my opinion, but others think the shows are the best part. I guess you can be the judge.

There are a couple ways to get your hands on San Diego Wild Animal Park tickets. One thing you could do is walk up and buy them on the spot. The park usually doesn’t sell out from what I can tell. Of course the problem with that is that a lot of other people do the same thing so instead of parking and walking right in to the zoo you might find yourself waiting in a 45 minute line out front while looking longingly at all these folks who somehow got their hands on tickets in advance. And if you have little kids (or older kids or adults for that matter) in tow that can, well, suck; so one good way to make the day at San Diego Wild Animal Park run more smoothly is to buy your tickets in advance. That way you can stroll right in and rush to the lions or tigers or bears (Oh… no I won’t say it) exhibits or whatever and totally avoid that 45 minutes of entertaining squirmy little young’n’s out front. Plus it will make you look cool — like you’re one of those locals who has an annual pass or something. Of course if you dress like you’re from Missouri or whatever it might be hard to pull off the “I’m a cool local surfer-type” ruse… but at least you’ll get in quickly, right? :-)

Here is the best resource I have found to purchase San Diego Wild Animal Park tickets online. Tickets are going for $28.50 for adults and $17.50 for kids. Sometimes they have discount tickets but I haven’t yet figured out how to consistently get those. Try here if you’d like a package that includes transport to and from your San Diego hotel. (It’s about $15 extra per person).

PS - If you come to town a lot or are a local you might want to buy an annual pass. The the pass usually appies to both the Wild Animal Park and the San Diego Zoo and both are pretty fun to visit over and over I think.

PPS - If you need a hotel in the area here is a link to the Holiday Inns around that area. They do a nice job.

PPPs - Escondido often is 15-20 degrees hotter than the coast in the summer so be prepared…

Best Places to Find San Diego Toreros Tickets online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: About and Other

Look, I’ll admit it — I’m really an Aztec fan at heart. But even us Aztec fans must concede that the Torero basketball program is very solid. On top of that the football program seems to be getting better and better (what, with that celebrity head coach of theirs and all.)

So if you are looking to find tickets to a game there are a couple of ways to go about that. The first thing to do is try to buy tickets directly from the school. We have links to where you can do that on our resource page. But if you don’t find the tickets you really want there, here are some aftermarket ticket resources that often come up with killer seats to the Toreros games:

Source 1 - These guys usually have an excellent inventory and are quite competitive in their prices.

Source 2 - These guys are comparable to Source 1 in their inventory (though they seem to have fewer Toreros tickets) but have the added advantage of allowing you to sell tickets as well as buy them.

Source 3 - These guys seem to have a decent inventory and often have the lowest prices prices of the three.

Anyway, these are the resources I usually use. Have a look and let us know your reviews of these options in the comments. Plus if you have another favorite let me know and I’ll add it to my list if I like it too.

Any questions? If not, enjoy your game (and drive safely!)

Where to find San Diego Zoo tickets online

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Attractions

So you’re coming to San Diego and you need Zoo tickets, eh? Well we’ll try to help you out.

There are a couple ways to get your hands on San Diego Zoo tickets. One thing you could do is walk up and buy them on the spot. The zoo usually doesn’t sell out from what I can tell. Of course the problem with that is that a lot of other people do the same thing so instead of parking and walking right in to the zoo you might find yourself waiting in a 45 minute line out front while looking longingly at all these folks who somehow got their hands on tickets in advance. Of course if you dress like you’re from Missouri or whatever it might be hard to pull off the “I’m a cool local surfer-type” ruse… but at least you’ll get in quickly, right? :-)

Here is the best resource I have found to purchase San Diego zoo tickets online. Sometimes they have discount San Diego zoo tickets but I haven’t yet figured out how to consistently get those. The price is $32 per adult and $19.75 for children (apparently $19.75 is more palatable than $20 per child for whatever reason…). If you’re staying at a San Diego hotle and you don’t want to drive here a a deal where a shuttle picks you up at your hotel at 9:00 and takes you home at 4:00. It costs about $12 extra per head. And here is a deal where they include transport from LA and back as part of a zoo package. It is about $40 extra per head.

PS - If you come to town a lot or are a local you might want to buy an annual pass. The zoo is pretty fun to visit over and over I think.

PPS - If you need a hotel in the area here is a link to the Holiday Inns around that area. They do a nice job.

Best Places to Find San Diego Chargers Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: Qualcomm Stadium Tickets, Sports

Decent Bolts tickets can sometimes be hard to come by even in years when the Chargers suck (which has been far too common in recent years…) Anyway, there is always that hope that the Chargers won’t suck this year, and even if they do, seeing them live still rocks! What could be better than wathching the Bolts on the, ummm, frozen tundra of Qualcomm Stadium. (Just kidding). I think going to a home game in the Fall is worth the effort just to rub in the fact that you are living large in sunny San Diego while most of the rest of the country is freezing their butts off in Pittsburgh or some other way-too-cold town!

Anyway here are the best resources I have found for Bolts tickets:

The first place you can look is the Chargers official Web site. That can be found on our resources page. If you don’t find the tickets you want there here are the top few aftermarket resources with all kinds of tickets at (usually) very reasonable prices: (more…)

Best Places to Find San Diego Padres Tickets

By: San Diego Tickets Finder    Category: PETCO Park Tickets, Sports

Look, you know it and I know it — the Padres rule! And with the Pads winning the division in 2005 and contending to do so again in 2006 what could be better to do than head down to Petco Park and scream your brains out for the Friars? Alright, maybe there are better things (like surfing), but you can’t do that all day every day. So here are some resources for finding Padres tickets on the Web.

The first place you can look is the Padres official Web site. That can be found on our resources page. But if the game you hope to go to is coming up any time soon you are not likely to have much luck there. If you don’t find the tickets you want there here are some excellent aftermarket resources with all kinds of tickets at (often) very reasonable prices: (more…)
